The Cedar Street Youth Players will bring the acclaimed musical Hadestown: Teen Edition to the Performing Arts Theatre at Antelope Valley College this June for exclusive performances featuring talented young performers from across the community.
Written by Anaïs Mitchell and inspired by American folk music and New Orleans jazz traditions, Hadestown: Teen Edition is a powerful sung-through musical that intertwines the mythic love stories of Orpheus and Eurydice and Hades and Persephone. Audiences are invited on an emotional journey to the underworld and back while exploring timeless themes of hope, love, faith, sacrifice, industry, and resilience.
This exclusive youth production is especially unique as Hadestown: Teen Edition is currently only licensed for K-12 schools and youth organizations in North America, making this a rare opportunity for local audiences to experience the hit musical performed by an emerging generation of artists.
